EPISODE 18: ANNOUNCEMENT + “Future You: How to Align Your Actions with Your Aspirations”

[00:00:00] Hey there. Welcome back to The Jewelers View. I'm Courtney Gray. I'm so happy that you joined me today for this episode. Today we're gonna talk about aligning your actions with your aspirations. So what if I told you the biggest thing standing between you and your dream business

is you? You already have the vision. You see yourself confidently pricing your work, selling to customers that you love and who value what you do, and running your business with ease. But too often we wait. We think we need more time, more experience, or a magic moment before we take action. Today, we're gonna talk about the future you, the version of you who has already built that dream business.

And the best part, you don't have to wait to become them. I'll walk you through exactly how to start stepping into that person right now. [00:01:00] Plus, I've been working on something behind the scenes that I know will take you even further in this direction. More on that later. Before we dive in, I wanna make sure, are you getting my emails every week@courtneygrayarts.com?

They're packed with simple steps you can start implementing today. They correlate with each episode I launch every Tuesday, and you're gonna start seeing growth, with these strategies. So go over and check it out, Courtney gray arts.com. If you're not on that VIP list, I want you to join, the tribe right now.

Okay, part one of this, why do we wait? These are common things that I hear that keep us stuck in limiting beliefs or repeating patterns and not moving forward. So here's one. I'm not ready yet. I need more training before I call myself a real jeweler, I'll focus on my business when I have more time.

Right. Can you relate to any of these? So here's the truth. [00:02:00] Clarity doesn't come from waiting. It comes from taking action. Future you isn't waiting. They're making moves even before they feel a hundred percent ready. The secret is to start acting like that version of yourself today, because the sooner that you do, the sooner you become them.

I have to tell you this story. I've started a lot of things in my career. I started my jewelry making career at about age 19 and moved into running a school, and towards my thirties, I decided to become a singer. I started thinking about it more and more. I thought, okay, I have my creative business going.

I think it's time to share in this new creative outlet. So I told my husband, we had been married seven years at the time, and I said, honey, you know, I, I think I can sing. And he's like a master guitar player. This was his world. he had music and I had the creative side, you know, the jewelry school and the all the things and making custom [00:03:00] design for people.

And we had made children together. We had built a beautiful home together. But we never performed any kind of music together. So that was 12, hmm, 15 years ago Now. I went out to a, grocery store that in the back of, it was like a Mexican grocery store, and in the back they had a microphone and. they said, Hey, Courtney, there's the microphone.

You know, if you wanna sing, go for it. So I did. I tried it, stepped into the discomfort and took some action, and they recorded this, right? And they sent me home with, back then it was a cd, not a USB, but they sent me home with a cd. My husband popped it in and he goes, oh, you can sing. And I thought, well, I've been telling you that honey, but the timing wasn't right.

I was too busy doing other things to really focus on this endeavor and to step into my singer. But for years after this, we pulled a band together. We started a, a band called Suburban Beat. You can go check us out. I always play a little of the music at the end of each [00:04:00] episode, uh, to give you a little taste of what we do there.

And now we've had this band together for, over a decade. It's something lovely that we get to do together. I've been able to step into my singer. Now, the point of this story is I didn't call myself a singer for years. I was like, oh, no, no. This is just something I do well, yeah, I get paid a little for it and I do it regularly and I practice it and I work on it and refine it.

I take vocal classes the whole bit. I thought, wait a second, Courtney. That's what a singer does. I. So until you start owning the title that you want of the future, you the one that you want to become, or the thing that you want to do, that you wanna offer as part of your person, right? I'm a singer, I'm a jeweler, I'm a mother and I'm a millionaire.

I had to slide that one in just to, uh, plant some seeds for universe. But we, until we own this title, we're not really owning that future You. So I want you to sit with [00:05:00] that. What is it that you would like to become? Who is that person? And we're gonna step into this a little bit deeper right now. So let me give you some actionable steps to align your mindset and your habits with these future goals.

so here's the future you exercise. I want you to close your eyes for a moment. If you're multitasking, come back to me just for a minute. Picture yourself six months from now. A year from now, what does your day look like? What are you doing that feels second nature to you? But right now might feel a little bit scary.

What does future you believe about themselves that you don't believe yet? Let's make some decisions about the future you next time you hesitate to price your work properly. Ask, what would future me do? Because future you doesn't undercharge future, you doesn't procrastinate or wait for the perfect moment to do a new project or step [00:06:00] into the next level.

Future you is showing up. Whether it's posting, making, reaching out to customers, sketching those small daily actions, create momentum. Future. You isn't trying to do it alone or figure it out by themselves. They value structure, community, and learning from those who've gone ahead of them. Confidence and success aren't something you wake up with one day.

You build them step by step, decision by decision, inch by inch, So I wanna talk to you about how this course that I'm building is gonna help the future you just for a couple of minutes. So bear with me. I'm excited about this. I know this shift isn't always easy and that's why I've created this course to help you take these steps without second guessing or spinning in circles, wondering what to do next.

So I'm calling this course Transform from Vision to [00:07:00] Success, and this is all about your jewelry business. It's a six week guided coaching experience designed for jewelers to gain clarity on their brand and their offers, price their work with confidence and build a business that feels aligned with your goals, not the goals of the next guy.

Your vision. The biggest difference between people who succeed and those who don't is they take action before they feel ready. So if you're listening to this and you're thinking, I want this, but I'm not sure if it's the right time, this is your sign. And if not now, when I want you to visit Courtney Gray Arts and check if enrollment is open, I'm gonna launch this a couple times a year, and if it's not open, join the wait list so you don't miss the next round.

so future you isn't waiting. They're already taking action. Whatever that looks like. Small daily shifts compound into massive progress. Trust this process. [00:08:00] You don't have to do this alone. That's why I created this six week course. That's why I offer one-on-one coaching. I'm here to be your.

Cheerleader, your accountability coach, and to help you decide what's the next best step for your path. So if you're ready to take that next step toward the future, you, I'd love to help.
